My other works in photography ranging from tests, personal and commissioned projects, experimentation, Instagram shots taken on my phone and whatever else I'm working on.
The inspiration behind this shot was to blend how society viewed gangsters in the past and how they are viewed now.
To create this shot I had two thugs smoking cigars, similar to the ones that Al Capone and friends used to enjoy back in the days. The ski mask, tattoos and gold chains are of course the got-to-have “fashion items” of today’s breed of gangsters and it was mandatory that my subjects had them.
To get the feel I wanted I shot it with a soft focus and a slow shutter speed to create a bit of dreamy effect to make it seem as if the subjects themselves were made of smoke. When I got the image into Photoshop I applied my personal black & white processing techniques to give the image its final character.
Overall I think it came out pretty cool.
